Nicolas Rubio

Based in Washington DC, Nicolas leads Meridiam Infrastructure North America (MINA).
He has over three decades of experience developing, building and operating private and public infrastructure projects in Europe, Africa and the Americas.
Before joining Meridiam in 2021, he began his career with Ferrovial and its infrastructure developer, Cintra. Starting as a contractor including four years as head of the company branch in Tunisia, moving to Cintra to lead its business development and technical office, then on to lead its US business as Cintra US President based in Austin, Texas, and as global director of operations thereafter prior to joining Meridiam.
During the course of his career he has been involved in the development of over 150 private infrastructure projects spanning more than 30 countries, including successes such as the 407ETR highway in Canada and state-of-the-art Managed Lanes projects Texas, North Carolina, Virginia, Colorado and Georgia.
In 2010 he was awarded the “Entrepreneur of the Year Award” by the American Road and Transportation Builders Association for his role promoting PPPs for transportation in the United States. In 2017 he was selected by the National Council for PPPs as part of America’s Top 10 P3 Transportation Infrastructure Pioneers.
Nicolas holds a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain.
